This is a first-party product walkthrough, written by the team that builds AutoOps AI. The CAPA module is designed for teams that need a structured corrective-action record without returning to a spreadsheet for every stage. It combines a gated workflow with AI-assisted drafting, but it leaves approval, evidence, and quality judgment with the user.
Starting a CAPA
A CAPA can begin directly in the module or from a high-risk FMEA item. The FMEA handoff preserves the relationship between the identified failure mode and the corrective-action record, which is more useful than copying the same description into two disconnected files.
- Capture the issueEnter a specific problem statement, source, owner, priority, and target date. A short but concrete record gives the drafting tools better context.
- Draft, then challengeUse the AI draft as a starting point for containment, root-cause, or action language. The user reviews and edits every field before it becomes part of the record.
- Advance deliberatelyMove through the staged workflow as work is completed. Required information and evidence remain visible instead of being buried in email threads.
What the AI does—and does not do
AutoOps can draft structured language from the facts supplied in the record. That reduces blank-page work, especially when the team already understands the incident but has not formatted it into a CAPA. It does not independently establish root cause, verify an action on the floor, or decide that a corrective action was effective.
Escalation and response playbooks
For organization workspaces, overdue CAPAs can be evaluated by escalation rules on a scheduled sweep. Each level emails its configured contacts once, acknowledgement stops further notifications, and the event resolves when the CAPA closes. A response playbook can also be started from the CAPA so assigned steps and completion history stay connected to the event.
Current boundaries
- AutoOps is workflow and documentation software; it is not a substitute for an organization's quality system or approval authority.
- AI drafts depend on the facts the user provides and must be reviewed for unsupported assumptions.
- The product does not claim regulatory certification or guarantee that a CAPA will prevent recurrence.
- Named customer outcomes and ROI figures are intentionally absent until they can be documented and approved.
